We have several fundraising initiatives planned for 2026 to raise money in three core areas: awareness, advocacy and research. The more we raise awareness and advocate for LGMD, the more treatment research will expand. LGMD2D patients desperately need treatment options to help slow and stop the progression of this severe disease. Every dollar counts!
3rd Hope in Motion: LGMD2D Awareness 5K
We were excited to hold the 3rd virtual 5K event, Hope in Motion: LGMD2D Awareness 5K. This year, we are thrilled to partner with the LGMD Awareness Foundation for a special collaborative event with their Girdie 5K, coming together with the broader LGMD community to raise awareness, inspire hope, and accelerate progress toward treatments. Whether you walked, ran, or rolled during the LGMD Awareness Day event, every mile matters.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 2025 event. Because of you, we had over 130+ registrants and raised over $21,000 for LGMD2D/R3.
Fore the Cure: LGMD2D Golf Tournament
We were thrilled to host our inaugural golf tournament at Stanley Golf Course in New Britain, Connecticut, in October 2025. We held our second successful tournament in May 2026 Thanks to the incredible support of our community, our two tournaments combined so far have had 30+ sponsors, 300+ attendees (190+ golfers), and volunteers. The two events were an outstanding success — raising over $166,000 and awareness for the LGMD2D community. Building on this momentum, we will have another tournament this fall on September 26, 2026, again at SGC in New Britain, Connecticut.
These events bring together families, community leaders, corporate partners, and advocates to drive awareness, fund research, and accelerate progress toward treatments and a cure.
Travelers Championship - Birdies for Charity
We were thrilled to be a part of the Travelers Championship Birdies for Charity in 2025. Thanks to your generous donations last year, our foundation was able to raise almost $3,000 to help LGMD2D patient advocacy, awareness, and research.
